Dr. Jacqui Ala and Professor Garth Shelton will be heading the two opposing teams in our debate on 6 June!

Just a reminder to get your vote in for the debate to be held on 6th June! So far energy seems to be the favoured topic. The choices are energy, agriculture or science and technology.

We are also excited to announce that  Dr. Jacqui Ala and Professor Garth Shelton will be heading the two opposing teams in our debate, joined by our President Esther Caddy and our Secretary Ricardo de Sao Joao! It’s going to be an interesting debate fuelled by incredible insight into the matter! Don’t miss out!

We hope to see you all there!

Debate to be held Monday 6 June

We would like to invite you to join us on Monday 6 June at 1:15pm in CB 107 for a debate to be held on a topic of your choice!

We have selected three important topics within IBSA and would like you to please email us back with your vote on which one you would like to hear about. The choices are as follows:
1) Energy
2) Science and Technology
3) Agriculture

We will be hosting the debate on one of the above topics with its regards to the Model IBSA forum and the relevence of these matters to IBSA.
Upon arrival, we will need your opinion on a certain question, which will be tallied and adressed within the debate. We will also open the floor to everyone so that you can be a part of the debate!

Open Positions and Mentoring Opportunities

The National Committee of Model IBSA is very excited to announce that we have two available posts on the Committee. These are the role of Director of Student Liaisons and the role of Director of Marketing. We would like to extend an invitation to all those students interested in interviewing for the positions to please contact us.

In relation to this, we have decided that we would also like to invite everyone interested in a mentoring programme to join us for our meetings, two people at a time. This will allow those of you that are interested in interviewing for these positions the opportunity to see how the Committee works and what the two roles above entail. This opportunity is also open to all those who just wish to know how Model IBSA runs on a daily basis, and whether any other positions within the Committee catch your attention. All the members are excited to share what they do with you and to help you decide where within Model IBSA you would most like to be involved.

Please bear in mind that although Model IBSA is very interesting and fun to be a part of, it takes a lot of work and dedication for which there is no reimbursement.  So when considering whether to apply for the mentor programme, or to interview for the open positions, take into account whether your schedule will permit you ample time to give your Model IBSA duties the time and commitment which they require, whilst still being able to stay on top of your academics!

In order to apply for either the open positions or the mentor programme, please send me and email telling me which one you would be interested in. We will try to accommodate those of you interested in interviewing for positions first so that you are able to see which position would be most suited to you. Please also give a brief motivational letter within your email, including a short biography.
